How to test drive a car under Level 2 restrictions

Wanting to buy a car during a pandemic? It’s a lot easier than you might think…

COVID-19 has undoubtedly, and dare I say, ‘unprecedently’ put a dampener on many of our pre-iso plans and aspirations, but buying a new car needn’t be one of them.

Once we entered Level 2, the Remix team were itching to get out and about in the city and explore all the amenities denied to us under previous restrictions. And what better way to do it, than in the comfort (and eco-friendly) cabin of the stylish Lexus Hybrid UX250h. We’d heard that buying a new car from Lexus under Level 2 restrictions was, for the most part, as simple as pre-COVID life, and we wanted to see it for ourselves. Here are our findings…

  • Lexus have upped their safety standards to meet, and exceed, the new criteria. They are minimising contact through physical distancing and contact tracing policies and respectfully ask that, when you do visit, you adhere to their strict health and safety guidelines. This is to ensure the safety of everyone.

  • All cars are thoroughly sanitised before and after any servicing work including recalls, general repairs and WOF checks. This includes all exterior and interior touch-points.

  • There was a lot to like about sitting in the driver’s, and passenger, seats of the Lexus UX250h. The seats themselves are soft and form-fitting, and the wheel is chunky and easy to adjust, and there’s plenty of visibility from all angles. The on-road quietness is also second to none, with little-to-no engine noise to be heard in the cabin, making it a pretty unbeatable car to zip around the city in.

In summary, it’s all very low-fuss and easy, and you can tell that the team at Lexus are committed to ensuring the very highest safety standards. So, if you’re in the market for a new car, find out how to book a test drive here.
