Takeaway trends to try from NYFW

The voyeur within us loves NYFW for one reason - trawling street style galleries to find out who's wearing what. Whether running for coffee or stepping out of a cab, there's one things these women all have in common - an impeccable sense of style.

Surprisingly, bold colours were a constant throughout, when we had anticipated a continuation of the monochromatic hues which reigned supreme this winter.

The 'matchy-matchy' movement continues, with all-in-one pops of colour, floral patterns, and soft pastels making a recurrent appearance.

Also, as can be expected, the long-standing favourite of a fitted crop top paired with denim jeans or skirts, has stood the test of time. A common favourite for those heading to model castings, or the who's who of the fashion world frequenting the front row.

Another favourite trend to emerge was pairing a high-waisted skirt with a simple white tee and denim jacket thrown haphazardly on top. To finish? Open-toed heels present either casual or sophisticated vibes.

Denim jackets aren't showing any signs of falling off our fashion radar anytime soon, with almost every street stylist rocking one. Supercharged with embellishments on the back panel, this is one trend that is here to stay.

But it wasn't all girly, androgynous looks stole the show, too, with over-sized checkered duffer jackets, button-up shirts and fitting jeans being common style staples.

So, prepare to get out the defibrillator and revive your springtime wardrobe by taking your cues from the NYFW fash pack!
