Hot Makeup Looks From NYFW!

With a passion for all things fashion, it is fitting that Maybelline New York was the official make-up sponsor for Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week for Fall 2012. This highly anticipated event on the international fashion calendar took place last week and Maybelline took charge of the catwalk makeup for BCBG Max Azria, Pamela Love, Katya Leonovich, Billy Reid, Wes Gordon, Rachel Zoe, L.A.M.B, DKNY, Custo Barcelona, Carlos Miele, Bibhu Mohapatra, Betsey Johnson and J. Mendal. We want to share with you some of our favourite Maybelline make-up looks hot off the catwalk! RZ2 RZ1 Stylist extraordinaire Rachel Zoe’s collection was inspired by late 60s London, rock and roll, super glamourous and sexy. Maybelline makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury gave the makeup a late 60s/ early 70s feel, inspired by the icons such as Marianne Faithful and Kate Moss. The eyes had a sensual feline feel with a heavy black 60s eye perfect to emulate for a night out on the town. She finished the look off with a defined bronze cheekbone and a neutral beige lip. Get the look: 1) Use Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation as a base to get that "second skin" effect. Prep the face with this lightweight formula for a flawless finish. 2) Use Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black to create the sultry "feline eye." Draw a thick line from the inner corner outward, smudging ever-so slightly for a smouldering effect. Then take the brush upward, tracing deep black colour into the crease for an intensely hypnotic look. 3) Use Volum' Express The Colossal Mascara in Glam Black liberally to create masses of lashes. 4) Blend Fit Me! Bronzer just under the cheekbones to give the face instant lift and architecture. 5) Use Colour Sensational Lipstick in Bronze to complete the look. LAMB1 LAMB2 Carrying on the 60s vibe was the Twiggy-like makeup at the L.A.M.B. show. Maybelline New York makeup artist Charlotte Willer defined the lid and the socket with gel blue liner and the lashes were stacked with mascara to create a super chunky effect. Using a black gel liner, lashes are painted underneath the lash line to complete this swinging 60s look. Get the look: 1) Apply Fit Me! Foundation to create a fresh clean canvas and use a deeper shade of Fit Me! Pressed Powder to contour cheekbones. 2) Use the bold Line Express Eyeliner in Blackened Sapphire and draw a thick line along the lash line adding a slight wing at the outer corner. To add a playful edginess, draw a second line in the crease. 3) Use Volum' Express Falsies in Black Drama for an extra bold lash look. Use the end of the mascara wand to create thick, clump-like lashes. 4) Create painted on lashes under the eye using short, quick brush strokes with Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black. 5) Team together Colour Sensational Lipcolour in Born With It and Nearly There to create the perfect light pink pout. CM1 CM2 We loved the makeup at the Carlos Miele show which focused on creating an eternally summery look throughout the winter months. Maybelline Spain’s official makeup artist Gato Zamora created a season-less glowing skin paired with a subtle bronze eye using a golden base colour and café tones to highlight. This is a winning year-round look and one we will be rocking this winter at the Remix office. Get the look: 1) Prep the skin with Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation to create a glowing, seamless base. 2) Apply Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer to four specific points of the face: the centre of the forehead, the centre of the chin, underneath the eyes, and along the outer cheekbones to illuminate the entire complexion. 3) Add contour by blending Fit Me! Bronze along the temples, across the cheek bones and under the jaw line. 4) To achieve a pretty flush use Fit Me! Blush in Medium Nude on the apples of the cheeks. 5) Saturate the eyelid in Eye Studio Mono in Bronze Blowout and to further amplify this bronzed shimmering look, apply Eye Studio Quad in Give me Gold, blending the palette's darkest shade into the outer corner of the lid. Work the palette's lightest shade into the inner corners. As a finishing touch, dust the palette's luminizer along the top of the cheekbones and upper lip. 6) Amp up lashes with several coats of Great Lash Lots of Lashes in Very Black.  7) Complete the face with Colour Sensational Lipstick in Warm Latte for a soft, natural pout. DKNY1 DKNY2 DKNY’s latest collection is all about the next generation of New York, modern, structured, and down town. Maybelline artist Charlotte Willer created a simple, minimalist look, perfect for the modern New York girl. Willer created luminous skin, with a defined filled in brow as a base. She added a touch of mascara and a slight shimmer shadow on the eyes to highlight. This is such a perfect everyday look, simply but super chic. Get the look: 1) To hide imperfections and dark circles while also bringing light to the face apply Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer under the eyes and around the eye area. 2) Prep the skin with Fit Me! Powder for a fresh, natural finish. 3) Groom and slightly enhance eyebrows with Brow & Liner Pencil in Brownish Black to bring subtle definition to this understated look. 4) Apply Eye Studio Mono in Bronze Blowout to the entire eyelid for a warm, luminous look. 5) For the most natural lip look, apply Baby Lips Lip Balm in Anti-Oxidant Berry to the lips. 6) To add clean volume apply two coats to the lash building Volum' Express One-By-One Mascara in Blackest Black to the top lashes only.
