Embark on a trip around the Mediterranean with Esther Restaurant
Sick of seeing your friend's Euro summer pics on the gram? Ditto. You may not be jetting off to eat olives and drink red wine on the Italian coast, sunbathe on a Croatian boat tour, dance till dawn in Ibiza or shop for woven rugs in Marrakech, but you can still enjoy the ‘Med. Esther is bringing a little slice of the Mediterranean to their Auckland restaurant for an epic six-month cuisine takeover so you can have a taste of a European holiday without the credit card debt.
This series of long lunch events transports guests on a journey of flavours around the Mediterranean. Each event will take place on the second Saturday of every month with Chef Sean Connolly thoughtfully crafting a menu of flavours from each location. Tickets are $85 per person and include a fabulous Mediterranean-inspired feasting menu in Esther.
Amalfi
The event series kicks off with Amalfi on October 14th, with the dress code being white - for a classic Italian long lunch vibe. You can expect to see dishes such as Eggplant parmesana, Linguine vongole and Lemon sorbet.
St Tropez
Saturday, November 11th sees Esther take on St Tropez with menu options such as the grilled prawns with Pernod butter, Duck a la orange and Salad nicoise gracing the menu.
Tel Aviv
Saturday 9th December will introduce Tel Aviv to Auckland with menu items like the Watermelon feta salad, Spatchcock chicken and a hummus dish to get your tastebuds watering.
Mykonos
Next up is Mykonos on Saturday 13th January 2024, with a delicious menu featuring dishes from this picturesque Greek island will feature Pita bread, Tzatziki, Baked Saganaki, Spanopita and Lamb Souvlaki to name a few.
Marrakech
On Saturday 10th February 2024 will see Esther take on Marrakech. Delights from the menu will include Moroccan tomato salad, Shakshuka, Kofta with spiced chicken, and Coastal spring lamb shoulder.
Ibiza
To round off this epic dining series will see Ibiza take centre stage. On Saturday 9th March 2024 Esther will transform into a party zone with select D.Js setting the scene. Dishes like the Tortilla Spanish omelette, Paella with prawn, calamari and muscles and Jamon Serrano will be the stars of the show.
