Sylvester x Thing Industries’ dreamy homeware line

Sylvester, Kate Sylvester’s cheeky little sister brand, has collaborated with New York based homewares brand Thing Industries to create a capsule collection of upbeat and quirky homewares.

Thing Industries Founder, New York based kiwi Bridie Picot, first met Kate when she had a brief stint as a model in the ‘90s and her first job was shooting for Kate Sylvester on the dunes of Karekare beach. Fast forward 15 years to when Bridie was a mere six weeks from her wedding, sans dress, when she fell in love with one from Kate’s Australian Fashion Week show and managed to nab a sample. Last year Kate and Bridie caught up in New York and began talking about collaborating, and Thing X Sylvester evolved from there.

The dreamy capsule collection is evocative of the sun-drenched Arizona desert and Scandinavian simplicity. The line includes a super soft printed beach towel, a dreamy printed birdhouse bookshelf (which allows avid readers to hold their page), a ceramic bookend planter and a kitschy cactus hook.

The collection is available now in Kate Sylvester stores and online through Kate Sylvester and Thing Industries.
