A Birthday Celebration, With A Twist
When it comes to birthdays, we’re usually the ones giving the gifts. But this time, the tables have turned. Darling on Drake, the premier drinking and dining destination, is celebrating its first birthday this month—and they’re doing it in style. Marking this milestone, Darling on Drake has partnered with renowned New Zealand jewellery label Meadowlark for a one-of-a-kind collaboration. What started as a happy accident—adopting Meadowlark’s signature Cherub charm as part of the Darling identity—has now evolved into an intentional and exciting project. The result? A capsule collection of six Darling-inspired necklaces and rings. Darling has also crafted an exclusive cocktail in honour of the collaboration: The Cherub. This exclusive drink features Peddlers Salted Plum Gin, honey, and lemon, shaken to perfection and served over a single, oversized ice cube. And here’s the twist—frozen inside each cube is a Meadowlark Cherub charm, yours to keep once the ice melts. The Cherub cocktail, alongside the capsule collection, will debut at Darling’s first birthday party on Friday, 13 December.
The Daylight Show
Inspired by Peggy Guggenheim and her iconic Daylight Gallery—a stalwart of 1940s NYC—13 emerging local artists have responded to the brief, exploring themes of environment, history, identity, and the dialogue between traditional and modern techniques in one divine exhibition. Highlights of the exhibition include works by Nick Herd (Sydney-based New Zealand artist), Jess Sweny (New Zealand artist) and Andrea Bolima (Filipino-Melbourne-based artist). Opening today, this exhibition is running until December 24th at Föenander Galleries' Parnell address.
