Fusing high street with high fashion, meet H&M x ERDEM

This years most eagerly awaited designer/high street collaboration has been surrounded by hype from the very beginning, and now we finally get to feast our eyes on H&M's designer collaboration with ERDEM!

London-based designer Erdem Moralioglu is certainly a force to be reckoned with - he has cleaned up in the British Fashion awards over the years, and is a wardrobe staple of the Duchess of Cambridge. Erdem is known for his fashion fluency and elaborate use textiles, patterns, embroidery to fashion timeless, ultra-feminine gowns.

Swedish fast-fashion retailer H&M releases a massive designer collaboration  each year (think Alexander Wang, KENZO, Balmain), and the hype surrounding each collab is totally within reason. In 2015, the Balmain X H&M jackets re-sold on EBay at 10 times the original RRP, making them as expensive as original Balmain!

This years collection was set to be as big and brilliant as its predecessors, following its announcement in July via a fantastical film teaser directed by Baz Luhrmann.

Now, we've finally got our hands on the lookbook, and it really is everything we could have hoped for...

Clearly the ball gown craze is in full swing - and we're definitely not complaining! Go extra or go home seems to be the motto, epitomised by one of the hero pieces - an ankle length gown featuring intricate snowdrop embroidery on formal stiff jacquard, with a precisely gathered waist, bow sash and a voluminous, ankle-length tiered skirt. Dreamy!

H&M x ERDEM is all about tweed, frills, jacquard, animal prints, and oh-so-many florals. Erdem was inspired by his own youth in England, and the concept of school kids spending the weekend at the 'country house'.

This collection also introduces Erdem's first ever menswear line! Check out the collection, which hits stores in November, below.
