Celebrating 90’s heritage with Tommy Hilfiger and Timberland in a two-part capsule collection

Two iconic American brands have collided in a much-anticipated fashion collaboration.

Global outdoor, work and lifestyle giant, Timberland rose to fame in the ’90s when musical mavens started sporting the quintessential boots as street style accessories. Since then they have remained on street fashion lovers’ radars and been integrated into the wardrobe’s of the world’s most famed faces.

Priding themselves on creating footwear, apparel and accessories with an eco-conscious value, it’s a no brainer that this collaboration was in the pipeline.

Sharing similar values to Timberland, and with no introduction needed, Tommy Hilfiger has been a pioneer in the fashion industry since their 1985 inception. With an already monumental brand portfolio under their belt, including Tommy Jeans, collaborations with brands like Timberland have allowed the brand to elevate their top tier status to an even higher sought after status.

Christopher Raeburn, Global Creative Director of Timberland describes the capsule as “Bringing the best each brand has to offer, then pushing boundaries to create something radically different, together. The pieces we created in this first drop are instantly recognizable as Timberland and Tommy. It’s like a cultural memory book, seen through a progressive lens.”

Tommy Hilfiger himself echoes Raeburn’s statement, explaining that “This partnership with Timberland has been such a creative adventure for me and a long time coming. Diving into our archives and reliving that optimistic, ‘anything is possible’ energy of the ‘90s along with Timberland was a great and nostalgic experience. Culture shaped our brands, and in turn, we shaped the fashion landscape of the time.”

Introducing the first of two drops, the Fall 2021 TommyXTimberland collection sees a mixture of apparel, footwear and accessories all perfectly merging both brands iconic assets together to create a unique new wave of street style.

Consisting 17 pieces, the hybrid capsule pays homage to the signature style of the 90’s echoing the hip-hop scene which helped both brands create their paths. Throughout the range, Timberland’s signature wheat and orange colouring complement the heritage red, white and blue of the Tommy Hilfiger palette, while a hybrid logo simultaneously brings the brands together in a fresh new way.

Transitional layering blends style, weather-resistance and warmth in parkas and varsity jackets. Multi-functional pieces like the zip-off carpenter pants, the two-in-one reversible varsity jacket and the voluminous recycled parka are designed for an active, outdoor lifestyle.

The classic Timberland 6-inch boot is remixed with the classic Tommy Hilfiger flag with added zip detailing. The collection delivers accessories to complete any look including a remixed hold all and the bum bag – the unmistakable classic ‘90s staple.
