The Drake Way: Rap about getting a key to Toronto, get given a key to Toronto

We all saw this one coming, right? Well now it's official; Drake has received a key to the city of Toronto, joining the likes of Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama and Celine Dion. Becoming an ambassador of his favourite basketball team is not the only way Drake has shown affection for his hometown. The city is quoted frequently throughout his lyrics, with his new song 'Summer Sixteen' even talking specifically about wanting a key to the city.

Drake was presented the key by Toronto Mayor John Tory at the weekend's NBA All-Star Celebrity Game with Tory saying of the gift, 'It’s not just because you are the world's most famous Torontonian but because of what you do with your great presentation and with your fame as you promote the city, you love the city and you even renamed the city for a lot of people around the world'. Receiving the key, however only symbolic, is pretty cool – and we'll be expecting a song about in his upcoming album.
