Hailed internationally as ‘New Zealand’s answer to Vogue’, Remix is the only magazine from New Zealand to photograph and interview global superstars for the cover of each issue. Supermodel Miranda Kerr, designer Alexa Chung, Hailey Baldwin, reality TV star Kylie Jenner, singer Ellie Goulding and icon Naomi Campbell are just a few of the household names to have been shot and exclusively featured on the cover of Remix.
Reporting into the Editor-in-chief and Publisher, you will be responsible for assisting the EIC in managing and executing the quarterly print magazine and production of key partnership campaigns. Your key goal will be helping the EIC to maintain the high quality and standard of the magazine's content, both in print and online.
A critical role, you will work with the business development team and editorial team to assist in creating and executing advertorial partnership campaigns that communicate effective storytelling across our channels. You will be experienced in a range of campaigns – having worked on photoshoots, video production, digital & social media, print content and advertising partnerships. You'll have a natural interest and passion for our covered categories of fashion, beauty, design, tech, community, wellness, music, cuisine, celebrity and more.
You may also be expected to seek out engaging editorial opportunities, interview high profile individuals, produce editorial fashion shoots and develop/write content for print and online publication. You will also be working closely with the digital team, ensuring the print content produced is executed effectively via Remix online channels.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with experience in the following range of areas or similar;
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in editorial/content roles
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong oral communication skills
- An understanding of the New Zealand print/magazine industry
- Ability to confidently write, edit and review written materials for print and online publication
- Ability to assist in the management of timelines & editorial calendars & delegating responsibilities among the editorial team
- Strong collaborator and comfortable working across various teams in various situations, including: confidently giving videographers & photographers creative direction, liaising and negotiating with KOL and talent
- Ability to interpret briefs from clients and develop integrated editorial/advertorial ideas and creative story ideas
- Keen project management ability to ensure all campaigns photoshoots, and initiatives are shot, designed, developed, written and approved within the given deadlines and budgets
- The ability and confidence to take on the role of the editor-in-chief in her absence.
