The 5 actors who deserve to take away Oscars in 2017
It’s that time of the year again, the 89thAcademy Awards are just around the corner…
As if the ceremony isn’t nail-biting enough for us at home, we can only imagine the nerves this ceremony must incur for its nominees, in particular, our favourite treasured talents who have missed the mark by a scratch not once, not twice but even a few times.
Here are our top picks for the actors and actresses who deserve the signature golden man in their hand this year!
Emma Stone
Our favourite redhead (a natural blonde, believe it or not) is nominated for her seamless integration of song and dance on the silver screen with Ryan Gosling in the 2016 musical La La Land. The film has already won seven Golden Globes, but we feel Miss Stone’s efforts, in particular, deserve tremendous recognition. After all, there’s few of us out there who can sing, dance and act, especially in front of the likes of Mr. Gosling, that’s for sure.
Ryan Gosling
Funnily enough, the other half of the La La Land duo, Ryan Gosling, is another nominee who needs to win an Oscar this year. How many charming, romantic, ‘every woman’s dream’ characters must one play before they can finally win an Oscar? Considering this is his second nomination overall at the Academy Awards, let’s hope no more than two.
Dev Patel
Known for winning over audiences in Slumdog Millionaire back in 2008, Patel has returned, this time with a nomination for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in the moving film Lion. The film entails the true story of a man, Saroo, of whom tried to locate the family he lost. Although his performance is indeed well worthy of an Oscar, his most gratifying praise allegedly came from Saroo’s family.
Michelle Williams
Another notable nominee is blonde bombshell Michelle Williams who is up for an Oscar for her supporting role in the tragic tale, Manchester by the Sea. Despite the praise, she speaks of wondering unceasingly whether she did her role justice whenever she walks away from the set. Sounds like Michelle needs some verification for her talent, and what better than a well-deserved Oscar?
Viola Davis
This actress is one we are certainly rooting for after her strong and elaborate role in the film Fences. In fact, Davis made history this year by becoming the first African-American woman to be nominated for three acting Oscars!
Good luck to all nominees this year, but particularly these five!
