A Village Straight out of a Fairytale

Dreaming of escaping the city life to live a more peaceful, fairytale life? You may want to consider moving to village Giethoorn, also known as 'Venice of the Netherlands.'

Founded around 1230, this picturesque village has no modern transportation or roads, only canals and 176 bridges. Tourists must leave their cars outside the village and the only way to get around is by boat (called ‘whisper boats’) or by foot.

You can just imagine how peaceful and magical living here would be. Even the village’s website says 'the loudest sound you can normally hear is the quacking of a duck or the noise made by other birds.'

This village is straight out of a fairytale, check out how beautiful it really is below.
