Lena Dunham is launching her own book line
Actress, writer, producer, director (and our favourite girl) Lena Dunham has announced she's launching her own book line with her best friend Jenni Konner.
Jenni and Lena already have an online hub - their newsletter Lenny Letter which has become famous for their feminist stance and their celebrity friends using the platform to write personal essays about issues, such as sexual shaming - Emily Ratajowski and women not getting paid the same as men in Hollywood - Jennifer Lawrence.
Lena released her first, and bestselling, book 'Not That Kind Of Girl' last year through Random House and the girls newest venture, named simply 'Lenny', will sit inside the publishing company. Random House said of the line, ‘[Lenny will] be a home for the kinds of exciting, emerging voices—in fiction and nonfiction—that Lena and Jenni Konner are already attracting and publishing so successfully.’
Speaking to Buzzfeed Lena said; ‘While we love our home on the Internet, Jenni and I are both voracious readers (of books and book reviews) who are constantly trading titles and allowing them to stir us creatively. Our friendship often doubles as a book club. Lenny books will aspire to push the ball forward on the issues that matter to our audience, with wit and style. We hope to see them sticking out of purses and riding public transportation everywhere.’
