Holiday blues? The ultimate road trip awaits in Taranaki
Don't succumb to the post-holiday back to work blues, summer is just getting started - and we've found just the place to keep the holiday vibes going all season long. Home to epic surf, spectacular gardens, legendary mountains, countless outdoor experiences, and the highly-anticipated outdoor show, Synthony In The Bowl, Taranaki is officially the place to be this summer.
On Saturday 5th February 2022, the Bowl of Brooklands will host the Auckland Synthony Orchestra, DJs, singers and live performers, playing the biggest dance tracks from the past 30 years. Set to a backdrop of native forest and immersive light effects in the magical natural amphitheatre, it’s guaranteed to be an unmissable experience. Synthony In The Bowl will host exclusive new electronic anthems, New Zealand talent and two brand-new sets. From the early afternoon, fans can groove their way into the sunset before a second set of dancefloor anthems reimagined like never before, complete with spectacular light, laser and LED visuals.
Of course, you’d be crazy not to tack on some must-do Taranaki activities to your Synthony road trip. Explore the 12km New Plymouth Coastal Walkway by foot, scooter or e-bike and discover art installations along the way. Or, immerse yourself in nature at Egmont National Park located at the base of Taranaki Maunga. Here, you’ll find short walks, waterfalls and an abundance of enchanted scenery. Then, round off the day with a visit to West End Precinct, home to 20 boutique businesses, you're spoilt for choice with cafés, eateries, bars and retail experiences.
