Heineken LIVE App Launch

Heineken threw an exclusive party last night to celebrate the launch of their new app, Heineken LIVE. 

The new innovative app, developed in New Zealand, rewards users with offers and experiences, sent straight to their smartphone. The night was a complete surprise and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves in for. We were sent an Uber code through the app to take us to our first location. We were greeted by the Heineken hostesses at the Crew Club down on Auckland’s Viaduct. Taylor Green, Heineken’s Marketing Manager told us more about the app. The app encourages Kiwis to get out and explore their city. It’s the first of it’s kind in New Zealand and Kiwis will be the first in the world to trial the app. 

There are iBeacons (bluetooth) installed into 120 Heineken outlets across the country and this technology combined with your smartphone’s GPS recognises that you’re out and about and rewards app users with surprise experiences such as helicopter rides, flights around the country, or VIP access to special events. The more you get out and explore your city, the more offers, rewards and experiences you may unlock.

But our night wasn’t finished here, we were sent another notification telling us to pick up some tickets for a luxury boat cruise around Auckland’s harbour. On board, there was everything you needed to get the party started, plenty of ice-cold buckets of Heineken, a DJ playing some great tunes, delicious food and stunning views looking back at Auckland’s harbour. We then received another notification on the Heineken LIVE app alluding to our next location. Heineken took us to a decked-out, garage-styled venue in Kingsland. There were three safes placed at the front of the room and during the night, we were sent codes via the app that could potentially unlock these safes revealing some grand prizes. The app was a great way to socialize with people and being sent rewards and offers throughout the night really helped enhanced the night.
