Five of the best running spots in Auckland
1. Mount Eden Loop
2. Parnell Domain
3. Orakei Basin
One for water babies – zoom along the water’s edge at Orakei Basin during this 7.8km loop, starting out from Auckland Museum and back. Coastal views, wooden walkways and beautiful beaches await you on this track.
4. Ponsonby Loop
Hit the double digit km mark as you trace the Ponsonby fringe for 10.1km, passing through Herne Bay, Westhaven and St Mary’s Bay before landing back at Richmond Road, Ponsonby. Auckland city is known for its urban running landscape, avoid the sports fields and hit a more domain drive around the central city.
5. Remuera Route
If you’ve ever done Round the Bays, this is the hyped version of that. Almost double the length at 15km (and double the fun?), follow the shore line from Judge’s Bay all the way to Kohimara, before heading up into Remuera and across to Parnell to cross the finish line.
