Tales & Tellers is Miu Miu's bold celebration of women’s stories
As the fashion world soon returns to Paris for Art Basel, Miu Miu is poised to captivate audiences with Tales & Tellers, an initiative that continues to illuminate the multifaceted lives of women through storytelling. Spearheaded by Miuccia Prada herself, this series transforms the Palais d’Iéna into a vibrant stage where art and fashion intertwine, showcasing the powerful voices of female filmmakers and artists. Conceived by interdisciplinary artist Goshka Macuga and convened by Elvira Dyangani Ose, Director of MACBA, Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, this exhibition invites viewers to engage with narratives that resonate on both personal and societal levels.
At the heart of Tales & Tellers lies a profound understanding of storytelling as a means of empowerment, one that feels emblematic of the modern Miu Miu woman. The project will feature a series of live performances and screenings, spotlighting characters drawn from Miu Miu Women’s Tales—short films that have long championed female perspectives. Each tale is not merely a story; it is an act of agency, allowing women to reclaim their narratives and share their experiences in a world that often seeks to define them.
Running from October 16 to 20, with a special preview on October 15, Tales & Tellers offers an engaging platform for dialogue around femininity and creativity. Panel discussions featuring the artists themselves will delve into the motivations and histories behind their works, inviting audiences to explore the rich tapestry of women’s narratives. To me, one thing is clear: Miu Miu is not just making a statement in fashion; it is crafting a narrative that celebrates the complexity and beauty of women's lives.
Online registration for exhibition guided tours and panel conversations will be available on miumiu.com from October 3rd.
