Levi’s continue the iconic streak with Summer '14 collection
Words by Isabella Bernal.
Deemed the fashion item of the 20th century by Time magazine, Levi’s iconic 501 jean has been reinvented for Summer ‘14, inspired by California’s Venice Beach and Yosemite Valley’s effortlessly cool ‘90s style.
Invented in 1873, the 501 jean created a whole new category of clothing – the blue jean, a staple item for us all and an American icon that has been woven and stitched deeply into our world’s cultural heritage from then on.
Generation after generation, Levi’s Icons – the 501 Jean, Western Shirt and Trucker jacket - continue to be the ultimate expression of personal style.
Worn and defined by pioneers who shape our world from presidents to movie stars, farmers to fashion iconsand entrepreneurs to the every man including James Dean, Andy Warhol, Madonna and Marilyn Monroe along with modern day icons pop sensation Lorde, Lady Gaga Kristen Stewart and Jared Leto to name a few.
Every season, these signature pieces are reinvented to honour the spirit, attention to detail and craftsmanship of the much-loved originals, but like all good things that take time, Levi’s is always taking risks, innovating and getting better with age.
From the chalky pastel sunset hues for women’s denim to faux fur collar and water repellent corduroy fabric for men’s jackets, we love the new collection.
