The new Kiwi jewellery collab we're crushing on
Edgy-luxe jewellery championed by the likes of Ellie Goulding is making its way to retail shelves, courtesy of a collab between two Kiwi fashion forces.
Silk & Steel have joined design forces with much-loved label Storm to create an exclusive capsule of unique, buildable jewellery, which has become part of Storm’s Fatal Crush AW17 collection. The designs are a juxtaposition of metal, spikes and ostrich feathers, heralding both moody and edgy vibes.
Inspiration for the Fatal Crush capsule collection stems from a bespoke piece created for Ellie Goulding by Silk & Steel designer, Sarah Cotterall.
‘The bespoke necklace I made for Ellie was designed to reflect her edgy-luxe style. We’ve since received great feedback and huge interest in this piece – and Deb from Storm absolutely loved it!’
Ellie showed her love for the piece by sporting it on-stage at her Auckland concert, then later Instagramming it for the world to see.
The five-piece capsule collection invites wearers to create a similar "Ellie inspired" look by layering pieces, or to select individual items to be worn as a standalone style expression. The collection includes earrings, necklaces, a bracelet and a choker. Our pick? The Fight or Flight Black Ostrich Feather Choker (RRP$89) won’t be leaving our neck all winter.
