Introducing the third instalment for Levi’s x NIGO
A man of effortless finesse and the Creative Director of luxury brand Kenzo, NIGO, has teamed up once again with infamous denim designers Levi’s to bring us the third instalment of their collaboration, and this one’s a special one. In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the beloved Levi’s® 501® jean, the collection is inspired by NIGO’s favourite personal archive piece, the Hickory Stripe 501® jeans. 
Honing in on the inspiration of Levi’s history, this one-of-a-kind Spring/Summer 2023 release features a pair of Hickory Strip 501® jeans and a 557XX Hickory Stripe Trucker jacket. Both pieces are crafted in Japan with traditional manufacturing techniques, adding that extra pinch of uniqueness.
The jeans are made with a specially made Shrink-to-Fit™ Hickory Stripe selvedge denim, paired alongside classic Levi’s details such as the Red Tab, signature button shanks, two-horse pull-back patch, and stitched arcuate on the back pockets. The 557XX Trucker Jacket is crafted with the same selvedged denim and comes pre-shrunk with specific threads, sundries, and a vintage wash to match the classic 501®. Each piece from the collection comes with a special edition Levi’s® x NIGO 150th anniversary tote bag to complete your ‘fit.

I found the original Hickory Stripe 501® at a vintage store in 1995 and haven’t seen it reproduced since then.
