How Team Remix spent their summer vacay

Easily the most popular season of the year, there are few things we love more than a Kiwi summer. Chock-full of scorching sunshine, melting Frujus, and all-too-frequent beach dips are just the start of what we deem to be the ideal summer vacay.

And although the date reads March and we’re apparently headed for autumn, our current climate has us believing that summer will stick around for a while yet.

Here at Remix, we are instead going to relive the best moments of our summer through rose tinted glasses. And no, we’re not speaking figuratively! Our friends at Sunglass Hut have been pivotal in providing us with our number one summer must-have…and we’re not parting with them, either.

What was the most memorable event of this summer for you?
It would definitely be going to Palm Springs for a month. Being a desert, it was hotter than it was in Auckland. Bliss!

Would you rather relax on the beach all day or go for a scenic hike?
Let's do both! Going for a hike then finishing off the afternoon at the beach, add an icy cold drink and you’ve got my attention.

If you could travel anywhere in the world for the perfect summer, where would it be and why?
Ibiza. You’ve got the ideal combination of beach in the day and party by night. The best of both worlds.

What are your fave picks from Sunglass Hut’s new season styles and why?
I’m loving the latest Ray-Bans. They’ve added a range of all-new frames to their collection, which I can’t wait to try.

What was the most memorable event of this summer for you?
Spending New Year surrounded by friends who are home, from all over the world, for the first time in years! 

Would you rather relax on the beach all day or go for a scenic hike?
Beach all day!

If you could travel anywhere in the world for the perfect summer, where would it be and why?
Mexico! Because the margaritas are on tap, the beaches are insanely beautiful, the food is stunning, and the locals are awesome.

What are your fave picks from Sunglass Hut’s new season styles and why?
Miu Miu has really impressed me this season – really luxe designs, lightweight and perfect for an all year round essential. I’m a sucker for a statement pair of sunglasses and these tick all the boxes!

What was the most memorable event of this summer for you?
Splore. The perfect weather, out-of-this-world location and some damn good people made this festival one to remember.

Would you rather relax on the beach all day or go for a scenic hike?
Beach all day - bonus points if it's accessed by boat.

If you could travel anywhere in the world for the perfect summer, where would it be and why? 
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE an overseas adventure but if you're searching for the perfect summer, you'd best be staying right here amongst our epic beaches and good times summer culture.

What are your fave picks from Sunglass Hut’s new season styles and why? 
I’m a huge fan of the new additions to the Dolce & Gabbana range. The styles are so versatile, they would be perfect for any occasion.

What was the most memorable event of this summer for you?
My most memorable event hasn’t actually happened yet – but it will in a few weeks’ time! I’m marrying my best friend at the end of this month, and I can’t wait!

Would you rather relax on the beach all day or go for a scenic hike?
Definitely a hike! I have one girlfriend in particular and all we do is hike! I love heading out towards Maraetai or Whitford Forest for a lengthy stroll through the bush.

If you could travel anywhere in the world for the perfect summer, where would it be and why?
I’m about to have my perfect summer getaway in the Philippines! I’ve dreamed about visiting for years and I can’t wait to spend my two-week long honeymoon venturing through different spots on Palawan Island, west of Manila.

What are your fave picks from Sunglass Hut’s new season styles and why?
I’m obsessed with this pair of Prada sunnies, I wore them to the Urban Polo recently and got soooo many compliments!

What was the most memorable event of this summer for you?
Moving to LA for sure. It has definitely been a journey but there are so many exciting opportunities at my doorstep. Not to mention the new people I’ve met!

Would you rather relax on the beach all day or go for a scenic hike?
Hike! No questions asked. I’m the kind of person that never sits still, so lying on the beach all day is my idea of a living hell.

If you could travel anywhere in the world for the perfect summer, where would it be and why?
Israel. It might not seem like a summer destination, but I’ve always wanted to go. I think it would be beautiful that time of year.

What are your fave picks from Sunglass Hut’s new season styles and why?
Anything Armani. Their collections never disappoint, and I love the dynamism of their style.

What was the most memorable event of this summer for you?
Rhythm and Vines hands down. I was with such great people and the acts were incredible. Even the rain couldn’t stop us from having a blast!

Would you rather relax on the beach all day or go for a scenic hike?
That’s a tough one but I’ll have to go with a hike. I’m a lover of all things active and nothing beats the picturesque view at the end. 

If you could travel anywhere in the world for the perfect summer, where would it be and why?
I’d like to go to Tuscany for a summer. Stunning scenery, loads of beaches and of course incredible food. It’s definitely a triple threat!

What are your fave picks from Sunglass Hut’s new season styles and why?
I am a round-frame fan for the most part but I’m loving the new additions to the Vogue collection.
