Fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh passes away at age 74

Fashion photographer and director, Peter Lindbergh, passed away and his official Instagram account announced the news with a post reading ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Lindbergh on September 3 at the age of 74. He is survived by his wife Petra, His first wife Astrid, his four sons Benjamin, Jérémy, Simon, Joseph and seven grandchildren. He leaves a big void’. 

 

Known for highlighting women's natural beauty and joy, Lindbergh never failed to capture beautiful organic photos that were refined and unretouched. One of his most famous photographs to date was in Vogue 1988 shot in black and white, with six supermodels in white shirts playing on the beach, laughing and smiling as well as Kate Moss' unretouched face shots. Here are some of Peters best images from his time.
