Enjoy a slice of pacific paradise at The Lula Inn
The first day of winter often brings with it a strong yearning to escape the sub-teen temperature and book a one-way ticket to the South Pacific. But considering we don't have access to a bottomless pit of funds, Auckland's newest pacific-themed opening will prove a welcome reprieve during chilly evenings.
The viaduct harbour is welcoming The Lula Inn, a slice of pacific paradise in the heart of Auckland city.
Opening this Thursday (June 1), The Lula Inn captures all the charm of the South Pacific, while offering a comprehensive drinks menu, playful kiwi cuisine, and live entertainment experiences. Nestled in the heart of Princes Wharf (in what used to be The Crew Club) Lula's delivers a hit of relaxed, colonial charm to the historic outpost.
The Lula Inn general manager, Kevin Fraser, boasts: “Lula’s is the perfect place for an everyday escape and sense of indulgence that we all crave in a busy city. Lula’s fun, adventurous and playful energy will mean there is something exciting happening whether you’re enjoying lunch in the sunshine, an after-work drink or a night out with friends.”
Foodies will delight at the array of Kiwi 'classics with a twist' on offer. Head chef Sam Clark designed a selection of dishes to be shared and enjoyed together, drawing on fresh produce from local suppliers. We're already salivating at the thought of the Leigh Fish Kokoda, which fuses freshly caught fish with coconut cream, and toasted rice, garnished with slices of radish on the small plates menu. The Coal Roasted Lamb Shoulder is sure to satisfy any die-hard carnivores meat cravings, and the long list of pizzas topped with duck confit, sandwiches housing fresh snapper and moreish sides will whet appetites from brunch through to dinner.
Perhaps our favourite aspect of this inner-city outpost is the cocktail menu. The eatery and drinkery boasts an array of gins from all around the world, to hero in a selection of refreshing cocktail that tells stories of the Pacific. Unique ingredients like Amaretto, Earl Grey tea, pink peppercorn, vanilla and fresh fruits bring each and every blend to life.
Delicious food and drinks aside, The Lula Inn promises to be one of the most iconic entertainment hubs of Auckland with live entertainment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
