Woman Crush Wednesday: Lucy Hale
Brunette beauty Lucy Hale is every bit the all-American girl. Hailing from Tennessee, 27-year-old Lucy made her mark in the acting world with her role as Aria in the hit TV series, Pretty Little Liars.
But PLL wasn't her first rodeo, Lucy kick-started her career on singing show, American Juniors. Roles in Bionic Woman, Privileged and A Cinderella Story followed before she landed the seven year PLL role.
The dog lover regularly shares updates of gorgeous pup Elvis to her 17.7 million Instagram followers. Lucy Hale is this week’s Woman Crush Wednesday…
1. She’s a Pretty Little Liar
Lucy may be best known for her role as Aria Montgomery on the hit TV series, however she first read for co-star’s Ashley Benson’s role Hanna. The PLL team then decided she was more of a fit for Aria - we can’t imagine those roles being played by anyone else! While on the show, she teamed up her love interest played by Ian Harding to create a ‘ship’ t-shirt and jumpers to sell with proceeds for their fave charities - Lupus & SmileTrain - so sweet!
2. She’s also a singer
Lucy hails from Memphis so it may not come as such a surprise that she loves country music and released an album, Road Between with her second single, Lie A Little Better - which was written about having a crush on one of her cast mates. Hale said she learned more about herself from making her album than from any other life experience. You might even notice her Tennessee accent shining through.
3. She’s got her own iPhone case line
Lucy teamed up with accessory giant, Casetify as their newest Creative Director. Lucy’s designed some beautiful cases, getting inspiration from her beloved pooch Elvis and using heaps of glitter - we want them all! Lucy said of her collection, that also includes tech cases “They should be an extension of who you are and what you wear.” Lucy’s latest addition - a glitter ‘treat yo self’ pink case is definitely a favourite.
4. She missed out on Christian Grey
Lucy actually auditioned for the lead role of Anastasia in Fifty Shades of Grey - that later went to Dakota Johnson. She told Cosmopolitan that the audition was ‘so uncomfortable’! Being a fan of the series, Lucy also auditioned for the roles of Alice and Jane in the Twilight Saga but just missed out. Lucy was also considered for Amanda Seyfried’s role in Les Miserables and for Megan Fox’s replacement for an installment of the Transformers series.
5. She’s got friendship tattoos
Forget friendship bracelets, bestie tattoos is the new thing! As they emotionally filmed the final scenes of the last and seventh season of Pretty Little Liars - a group they’d been apart of for seven years, the six gals got initials of their character tattooed on their finger. Lucy alongside Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson, Janel Parrish, Troian Bellisario and Sasha Pieterse spent the ultimate girls night at the parlour getting these little gems on their iconic ‘shh’ fingers done.
