update: nike she runs
Well I’m four weeks into my training regime for the Nike She Runs Sydney event and figured it’s about time I updated you on my progress and drummed up a little more support. It’s only a little less than 3 weeks until I’ll be heading to Sydney for the big event! Yikes...
I had to sit last week out due to a niggly back and shoulder that I’m really not sure how I hurt. I’ve had a couple of deep tissue sessions at Bodyneed in Ponsonby to iron out those issues and I think I’m good to go again for this evening’s Nike She Runs club at 5.30pm. Fingers crossed there’s a break in this rain though, I’m a bit of a fair-weather runner… I've promised my teamies that I'll be there though so no playing hookie for me today.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a closet tech-head so I’m quite excited about busting out my nifty new Nike+ SportWatch with GPS powered by TomTom. It’ll track my distance, pace, time and calories burned and will remember my run history and remind me when it’s time to train (I need that last feature for sure).
As well as the sweet new watch, I’m also going to give the brand spanking new Nike Free 5.0’s a go this evening. They just launched here in NZ last week so I don’t know a whole lot about them yet but I will let you know how they go.
