Everything to be excited about this September!
Ah, the start of Spring - where lambs dance about, flowers bloom and a whole HEAP of exciting events flood to our hub to put a little spring in our step (pun intended)! From a bender of chocolate and coffee to a day dedicated to smooching a pug, we have your September calendar sorted!
1. The Chocolate and Coffee Show Auckland
We know that you are probably jumping up and down just from just the title of this event - so whilst you're calming yourself down let us explain what's in store...
On Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th September, The Cloud in Auckland is holding a celebration of coffee and chocolate hosted by Mike Puru! Walking amongst enticing aromas and being subject to the most exotic flavours of both coffee and chocolate, this is not to miss! New Zealand's best Artisan chocolatiers will be on show alongside star barristers and of course, an abundance of chocolatey treats.
To find out more and to grab some tickets (be quick!) and head here.
2. Hug-A-Pug day
We can't think of a better way to spend a weekend than sprawling amongst pugs and hugging them until our heart is content. On September 2nd for a gold coin donation, you can hug a pug or two... or fifty - the choice is yours! All donations go towards the team and NZ Pug Rescue, so if this doesn't make us warm and fuzzy enough, knowing that it is for a good cause just makes it that much better!
To learn more about the NZ Pug Rescue, check out their website.
Head to Hug A Pug's Facebook page for more info!
3. Pet Expo at ASB Showgrounds
The Pet Expo is understandably self-proclaimed as the "happiest show to attend". As well as including an array of little fluff balls to pet, and even ponies, there's a heaving amount of pet products on show for us who love to spoil our pooches, bunnies, fish - whatever floats your boat! Also provided is a variety of entertainment, attractions and special features including a dog show and Miss Elgregoe's famous "Amazing Bird-Show"! Get a group of pals together on the 30th Septemeber, and spend the day squealing in childish delight over the little doggos and adorable pooch jumpers that you'd probably never buy but can definitely appreciate.
Grab some tickets here!
4. Beer and Bacon Festival
We don't mean to be stereotypical here - but if this doesn't scream "kiwi bloke" than we don't know what does - the only thing missing is a dollop of Watties tomato sauce, and Bob's your uncle. On the 30th of September get your butt down to the Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen for a beer and bacon bonanza. Give your taste buds a dose of excitement with bacon infused cocktails and beers, as well as Sweat Shops new crafted brews especially for Spring. Boogie on the dance floor and make sure you have enough room in that belly for New Zealand's first ever bacon eating competition. Register for the comp here - and good luck!
5. Snort Comedy
Looking for a laugh? Whether it's a giggle, a chuckle or a full blown bellow- Snort comedy has you covered! On Friday the 8th September, you will be able to experience improv like no other. Held in the Basement Theatre in Auckland, Snort is a new and innovative twist to improv, featuring some of New Zealand's best comedians including Rose Matafeo, Guy Montgomery, and Joseph Moore - just to name a few.
Head here to find out more.
Have a splurgy September!
