Could the Obamas be our new TV obsession?
Barack Obama may have just landed his own original Netflix series. Apparently, the former American president and former first lady, Michelle, are in advanced talks with Netflix about an upcoming series.
The series would focus on real-life inspirational stories and include exclusive content for Netflix subscribers.
Eric Schultz, one of Obama's senior advisers, told The New York Times that 'throughout their lives, they have lifted up stories of people whose efforts to make a difference, are quietly changing the world for the better. As they consider their future personal plans, they continue to explore new ways to help others tell and share their stories.'
The format is yet to be set in stone but ideas are popping up across the internet. Topics of discussion including health care and immigration, moderated by the Obamas themselves, is rumoured to be a key focus of the show.
Since leaving the White House, The Obamas have retained a relatively low-profile. Their return to the public eye has many excited over the chance to get a closer look into the minds of the Obamas and their continued engagement with politics and social issues.
So it may not be a Keeping Up With The Kardashians-esque show, but nevertheless, it definitely has our attention.
