Your (and our) new favourite whisky

We’ll admit, we love whisky. Whether it’s neat, on the rocks, or mixed into a cocktail, we love to unwind at the end of a busy week with a nice glass of our favourite liquor.

If you’re a fellow whisky lover, listen up. The results of IWSC are out - and if five gold medals at a world-renowned competition don’t convince you that this is the best stuff ever, we’re not sure what will!

Glenmorangie Original, the hallmark of the Scottish Highland’s Glenmorangie Distillery, won the award for its ‘delicate nose of poached pear, vanilla and polished gold.’ The judges added that the whisky has a ‘wonderfully relaxed palate,’ which is just what want for our stress-free evenings. Plus, Original blends vanilla with a clean aftertaste of citrus to give it a little kick.

Glenmorangie also managed to win gold for four other whiskies so we decided to do a bit of investigating into the best of the best…

Glenmorangie’s Original drop is the backbone of the entire Glenmorangie range. A ten-year-old single malt, this baby is produced by marrying Scotland's tallest stills with first and second fill American white oak casks. It’s here, in a range of ex-bourbon casks such as famous slow-grown and air-dried 'designer casks' from Missouri, that Glenmorangie Original matures for 10 years. Resulting in a mature spirit that is soft, mellow and creamy.
