Is this wine NZ’s best kept secret?!

I’m the first to admit that I have a girl crush on Jules Taylor. Not only is she one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, but her ability to produce top-notch New Zealand wine is second to none.

In my younger years, I would count down the days until mum and I would head to SPQR and order a bottle of Jules Taylor Sauvignon Blanc accompanied by a giant bowl of pasta.

This indulgent treat quickly became ritualistic, much like the secretive ritual Jules Taylor adopted when handcrafting a bespoke range over five years ago. An indulgent treat. And that’s exactly what OTQ from Jules Taylor is, an indulgent treat.

Introducing Jules Taylor OTQ, the most limited release range from the Jules Taylor wine stable. An acronym for “On The Quiet”, Jules cultivated the first vintage of OTQ in 2012 using special pockets of the vineyards best sun-kissed fruit.

Personally nurtured by Jules, her secret stash of fruit was literally kept just that until it was safely bottled. Jules hid this project at the back of the winery away from prying eyes and while every Tom, Dick and Harry offered different viticulture advice and techniques – she went with her gut and challenged the conventional winemaking methods of Marlborough’s signature varieties

If you ever wondered what a labour of love tasted like – this is it. Jules creates this limited range through her pure and simple love of winemaking, as opposed to mass production or being part of the ever-growing ‘yes way, rose’ movement.

Truly immersing herself in the art of great winemaking, the OTQ range has been Jules Taylor’s best kept secret… until now.

Perfectly presented in a rose gold foil bottle, the OTQ range boasts delicate illustrations of flora and fauna found in the beautiful vineyards from which the grapes were plucked. The best quality New Zealand wine in a highly covetable bottle? Yes please.

We challenge you not to down the bottle come Christmas Day, instead saving it for a special occasion. But shhh… if the neighbourhood finds out they may just pop over for a glass or two!

The OTQ collection consists of single vineyard Chardonnay, Rosé, Pinot Noir and a barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc, and is available at your nearest Glengarry, fine wine stores nation-wide and at on-premise fine establishments until stocks last.
