The Grove is offering an elevated Sunday roast
Food has the power to transport you, and for many New Zealander’s, few dishes will transport you home quicker than a good old-fashioned Sunday roast. But because they're actually extremely difficult to execute well at home, The Grove is now offering their own restaurant-quality adaptation, so you can enjoy homely comforts without arduous prep time.
Thanks to comfort food coming back into fashion, one of Auckland’s top restaurants are applying their skill and rigour to the humble tradition, think quail eggs and duck liver parfait as opposed to your Yorkshire pudds. Let’s be honest, and mum - maybe skip this part if you’re reading - what their serving is far superior to the Sunday roasts of bygone days.
The meats are the main event, though. Choose from impossibly succulent beef sirloin, pork belly, fish or roast pumpkin tart for the meat-averse. They’re all crying out for a good Pinot to wash it down, so luckily they offer a wine match for your courses.
Sunday roast is, unsurprisingly, only available on Sunday, and we recommend booking in advance. It’s delicious proof of how amazingly good food can taste when you take it easy.
