Le Dîner en Blanc – Turning five in style

Classic Auckland weather did not dampen the spirits of 1,000 enthusiastic Dîner en Blanc guests.

The annual event is hosted at a secret location that isn’t revealed to guests until they arrive on site – this year the elegant event was held at Auckland’s iconic The Cloud – a perfect wet weather plan!

For those not in the loop with this exclusive event, Dîner en Blanc is a flash-gathering in a public space for a picnic style dining experience, guests are dressed head to toe in white and all picnic accessories and table settings are mandatory white, making this dining spectacle a show stopper!

Guests descended on The Cloud from all corners of Auckland on buses, trains and on foot to be greeted by a live band, the talented trio Red Velvet, performers on stilts and a stunning insta-worthy venue.

Once settled in, picnic hampers unpacked, table settings perfected and champagne poured – the traditional waving of white napkins signalled the start of the 5^th Le Dîner en Blanc in Auckland!

Thanks to the talented team from Dry and Tea with their pop up Dry Bar guys and gals were given the VIP treatment throughout the night. The Perrier-Jouët photo booth hummed all night long and thanks to DJ Onny, guests danced to crowd favourites for hours!

Another tradition wasn’t missed out on with the new indoor venue – hundreds of sparklers were lit simultaneously as night fell adding yet another memorable element to the night.

As midnight strikes, Dîner en Blanc attendees pack up and disperse into the night, taking all traces of the event with them, as though it all never happened.
