Japan is getting a Hello Kitty-inspired bullet-train!

Ever since 1974, Hello Kitty has proven to be quite the fascination and the cartoon character has featured in many fashion collaborations as well as having cafes all around the world dedicated to her.

This time, Sanrio the parent company of Hello Kitty, have gone one step further and have announced a collaboration with West Japan Railway (JR West) to produce a Hello Kitty themed bullet-train to bring a bit more fun into the westside region.

The Shinkansen train’s design will come alive with pink ribbon as the company uses the popular animated characters bow as their design inspiration. Inside the train travellers will find an interior full of Kawaii animations and Hello Kitty motifs also like her bow.

The train will run for a limited only throughout Japan’s summer season (June - August) and will service the route between Osaka and Fukouka. Why not go and enjoy yourself at the Hello Kitty cafe in the heart of Osaka before hopping on the specialised bullet-train and exploring the south of Japan.
