Glenmorangie’s ‘A Tale Of Cake’ is your whisky and cake’s sweet love story

We have a bone to pick with whoever said you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Life’s too short to skip dessert. Like a nightcap, it’s universally acknowledged that something sweet is a necessary final step after dinner. And since Glenmorangie’s new one-off ‘A Tale of Cake’ whisky tastes incredible with cake they have collaborated with the Queen of Cakes, founder of The Caker Jordan Rondel, to create a mouthwatering limited-edition collaboration cake kit: just add the new whisky to the cake mix for a delicious twist.  Now you can indulge in a slice of cake with the sweet cake-inspired single malt Scotch whisky from Glenmorangie.

This magical tale of Glenmorangie’s ‘A Tale of Cake’ all began when Dr Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation was inspired by how some of his most memorable moments involved cakes. Of course, what came after was, to encapsulate its magic abilities in a single malt whisky, he experimented by finishing Glenmorangie in Tokaji dessert wine casks. Layering Tokaji’s sweet, honeyed notes with Glenmorangie’s smooth, fruity character, Glenmorangie ‘A Tale of Cake’ was born. The liquid is a rich copper, but the taste is pure technicolour, luscious, sweet and complex with multi-layered bursts of honey - YUM!

The Caker’s Lemon, Strawberry and Poppy Seed Cake Kit is the perfect pair to enjoy this indulgent whisky. Simply add half a cup of Glenmorangie ‘A Tale of Cake’ whisky in place of the milk per the recipe card inside the Cake Kit! Want to make it even more delish? Mix in a tablespoon of whisky to the lemon glaze that finishes off the cake.
