Issy, thank you for being our cover star!

Thank you for having me, it was such a pleasure!

We shot you in some stunning luxury looks, what was your favourite fit from the shoot...

I actually adored all of the fashion from today. I’ve worked with Patrick before, so I knew he understood my style. It made me so excited for spring in Australia. But my favourite look would have to be the Armani bustier that I shot with the statue or the Calvin Klein leather jacket and those shoes, I think I’m now going to buy the heels!

It blows my mind that you did your own glam makeup for this shoot. You looked stunning...are you self-taught?

Thank you! Yes! I love makeup. I always say if I wasn’t a model, I would be a makeup artist. After many years in the chair of some of the country's best make-up artists, I’ve learnt tips and tricks but also understand my face and features after so many years modelling. It’s a true passion.

If you could only take one beauty product to a deserted island, what would it be?

Lip liner forever! specifically my custom lip liner collab with Base Camp Beauty, which is launching very soon.

You just got back from Europe... Any itinerary must do’s?

Beach hopping, boat days and ice cream everyday is a must!

There’s no denying, you are one of the OG social stars of Australia... Tell me a little bit about how your online presence evolved?

Oh this is so nice, I forget how long it’s been since Istarted social media! I started to gain followers quite rapidly when I began modelling in 2016, I think that people followed me after brands would post me. It organically continued to grow the more I worked/posted. I still can’t believe I have so many people who follow me and choose to support me, I'll never get used to it.

Describe a moment when you dared to dream...

I got called for a casting for a big cosmetic brand, I thought there would be no chance I'd get it but I decided to go anyway because I dared to dream.. I ended up being booked for the job and my face was up in every store Australia and New Zealand wide - even on the trays at the airport. This job is still one of the biggest pinch me moments in my career. 

What is your earliest memory of fashion?

My earliest memory of fashion takes me back to being six or seven. I had these brown wooden high heel shoes with a flower on top. I thought they were the prettiest things I'd ever seen and wanted to wear them all the time. I even remember having a dream about wearing them to school. I loved them so much.

You often work on collaboration fashion lines like your recent Johansen release and CSB - how involved are you in the process of these projects?

Being able to create beautiful ranges with brands will always be so special to me. My role at CSB is creative partner, I get to design multiple collections a year. They allow me complete creative control down to the very last detail, I basically get to do it all with the help of the incredible team.

If you could launch your own product or label, what would it be?

I can’t give that away [laughs] watch this space!

What else is coming up for you this spring/summer?

I’m headed to NYC in a couple weeks for some exciting things and I'm moving into my new apartment I bought almost two years ago now.

You and long time partner Harri are quite a power couple... has it been odd or a blessing having your relationship a part of your social presence?

Aw thank you so much, we are very blessed to have each other. We mostly only ever receive positivity and love back from people when it comes to our relationship, it’s so nice, I love that people love ‘love’ and love us.

If you could dream of a better future, what would that look like?

A better future for the world would be more love and kindness. And a better future for me would mean health and happiness for me and my loved ones.
