Your favourite home fragrance brand just got even better
The all-enveloping scents of the renowned home fragrance label, ECOYA, have graced our bedside tables and vanities for more than 13 years, their beautiful aromas scenting our homes and evoking precious memories.
This month, we’re celebrating the sweet-scented journey of ECOYA, by taking a trip down memory lane, exploring the heritage of this iconic home perfumer.
Here, we explore some of ECOYA’s biggest milestones in what has led them to become the brand they are today, and how we can expect to fragrance our homes moving forward.
In 2004 the Australasian brand was born, upon the discovery that there was an opportunity for natural candles in this part of the world.
At this point in time, the introductions of sweet-smelling scents of French Pear, Vanilla Bean, Sweet Pea and Jasmine, among others, blessed our homes.
In 2010 ECOYA lists on the NZX, the New Zealand exchange… Big things are happening!
The Christmas bells start to chime in 2011 as the brands limited edition ‘Fresh Pine’ Christmas fragrance is introduced, and proves to be beyond popular! This year also marks the wonderful creations of Botanicals and Body Care. ECOYA then merges with Trilogy Natural Skincare.
ECOYA heads in to 2012 as three international brand discovery stores open their doors; two in Sydney and one in Auckland. But it doesn’t stop there, 2012 marks the year ECOYA teamed up with the luxury car brand, Audi, to launch the new Audi A1, with a car being skinned in a design by ECOYA.
2013 heads around and the iconic Madison jar is born. This year also marks the supreme milestone when the Marriage Equality bill passes in New Zealand, and ECOYA’s launch of the ‘Just Add Candlelight’ campaign switches to ‘Equality by Candlelight’. Aww!
Next, 2014 rolls around with the newly minted Celebration collection introduced to candle lovers the world over, with ‘White Musk and Warm Vanilla’ as the hero scent. At this point in time ECOYA is booming, with products being swept off the shelves every 45 seconds across the globe.
Trilogy International Limited becomes the parent company of ECOYA lists on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) at the end of 2016.
At full speed ahead we reach 2017 where more magic happens! ECOYA sits firmly as one of Australasia’s most popular home fragrance brands. The exquisitely scented aromas have stolen our hearts and this year is super significant in the fragrance house’s history, as it marks the reveal of ECOYA’s new branding!
ECOYA has added more fragrances to their shelves including cherished scents such as Spiced Ginger & Musk, and four Summer limited edition fragrances which represent our favourite season in different Australasian destinations. These being, Coastal Kowhai & Fig from New Zealand, Aquamarine & Sandalwood from Australia, Sun-Kissed Lime & Sea Salt from Bali, and Salted Coconut & White Jasmine from the South Pacific.
However, there is no doubt the beloved fragrances like Lotus Flower and French Pear will still be top picks for ECOYA buyers. Phewf.
