For the truly adventurous Kiwis, Japan is calling! Search volumes have increased 120% for Tokyo since the same period last year, so it seems many Kiwis want to experience a bit of its diverse and unique inner-city attractions. If you’re planning a trip to Japan now, you’re in for a treat. During its cooler, quieter season, you’ll have the chance to explore the country’s serene wonders, all without the usual throng of bustling crowds. To catch the iconic cherry blossoms, late March to the middle of April is the most popular time for adventures under the picture-perfect pink trees.

If you’re looking for adventure just a hop, skip and a jump away, the Gold Coast is perfect for intergenerational travel, and took the top spot for the most searched international destination for Kiwis. Along with its sprawling beaches and metropolitan vibe, there’s plenty of adventure beyond the shore. Head to Tamborine Mountain for a relaxing wine-tasting tour, experience an up-close chance to spot humpback whales, or dive into the thrills at Movie World and and Wet‘n’Wild for the ultimate theme park adventures!

Beyond Japan and Australia, emerging international hot spots include Hong Kong, Barcelona, and Bali’s Canggu and Uluwatu - places that offer a real dose of cultural flair with sunny adventures. However, if you want something a little different as the New Zealand temperatures start to soar, a white Christmas in Europe might just be the perfect fit. After all, Christmas doesn't always have to be a BBQ on the beach!
