[gallery link="file" ids="5367,5368,5369,5370,5371,5372,5373,5374"] Workshop’s latest artist collaboration was launched last Thursday night at the label’s flagship Ponsonby store to a packed crowd of friends, media and industry insiders from both the art and fashion worlds. Check out a few pics above in our gallery. Long time Workshop partners Max Gimblett and Martin Poppelwell collaborated together for the first time specifically for this project. The works were created over four days at Poppelwell’s studios on Bluff Hill, Napier, from which elements have been translated onto limited edition Workshop garments. ‘Max and Martin are both hugely talented, enthusiastic artists and it’s both a privilege and a whole lot of fun to work with them. The strength, simplicity and graphic nature of their work translate beautifully onto fabric,’ says Workshop’s Chris Cherry. The works on paper and ceramics were unveiled for the first time alongside the clothing on Thursday and will remain in store for the coming weeks. The limited edition collection features mens and womens printed t-shirts, shirts, dresses and jeans alongside a small number of one-off Workshop garments directly hand painted by Gimblett & Poppelwell. Several pieces were quickly snapped up by guests on the night however there is still good a selection of works on paper, ceramics and garments available in the Mackelvie St store. Works on paper from $2,500 - $3,500 unframed Ceramics from $200 - $2,500 Limited edition garments from $149 - $598 Visit Workshop online here or on Facebook for more information.
