What Marie Antoinette would wear to work out
Intricate ruffles, playful pleats, extravagant fabrications and delicate bows are hardly the first things to spring to mind when you think of activewear. Lending her exaggerated eye to PUMA’s line of gym-ready attire, Rihanna breaks new ground with her FENTYxPUMA SS17 collection.
This is no place for monochrome – enter a new wave of blush, mint green, lavender and white. Where simple tights and crops are the anthem of the mundane, the FENTYxPUMA SS17 collection calls out normality and replaces it with transformed tracksuits, silken boxing robes, switched up tennis dresses and footwear to keep any activewear wardrobe feeling fresh.
Every piece signals Riri’s individualistic, maximalist style – exaggerated shapes dance amongst the soft hues, contrasted only by the hard-edged street-inspired gender bending silhouettes.
The iconic FENTYxPUMA slide has been reimagined since first gracing the Paris runway, with the newly incepted Bow Slides in olive and blush pink elevate poolside chic to dizzying new heights. This theme continues with the Bow Sneaker, a femme fatal hybrid of PUMA’s iconic Trinomic runner in the same olive and blush hues. And should your ensemble call for a bit more dressing up, the Lace Up Heel or Sneaker Boot Zip give you license to be your baddest self.
Spearheading the campaign shoot, Rih lent her creative eye to direct the campaign, and recruited iconic photographer Tim Walker to capture the energy and essence of the brand’s new spring collection. Rounding off the all-star lineup was stylist Jacob K to style models Clarie Yurika Davis, Geron McKinley, Taylor Hill, Zaina Muiccia, Demi Scott, Joshua Williams, Slick Woods, and Gigi and Bella’s little brother, Anwar Hadid, to perfection.
Available in stores now, the FENTYxPUMA SS17 collection will be continually updated, with fresh pieces dropping from now until June.
