The Fashion Dogs that are taking over Instagram

The petfluencer is the new breed of Instagram tastemakers that are taking over the popular photo-sharing app. Our furry friends are no longer exclusive to being our trusty companions because they are now amassing huge followings of their own with a simple wag of their tails.

Our favourite petfluencers you might ask? The fashion dogs of Instagram, of course. 

Not only are these pups bound to put a smile on your face, but they are fuelling immense growth in the pet apparel industry. From Chanel sweaters to Prada bags, these dogs are definitely the best dressed 4-legged creatures to ever exist.

These ‘designer dogs’ are attracting the attention of many of our favourite fashion houses, and with dog owners increasingly treating their pets as family, there is tremendous demand for designer puppy street style.

In uncertain times like these, it is no surprise that these fashion dogs have such an allure. Their content is not just fashion-forward but it brings a little bit of joy to the monotonous days of lockdown. So we’ve compiled a list of our favourite stylish dogs to give a stalk. 

Tika - @tikatheiggy

The glamourous Tika is a Montreal-based Italian Greyhound, and fashion’s new It girl. Tika is known for her over the top ensembles of colourful faux-fur coats and floral shirts, and because of the pandemic, Tika had no other choice but to show off her fabulous outfits on Instagram. 

Billie - @boobie_billie

This Italian Greyhound and Chihuahua mix is renowned for her love of accessories, and can often be seen sporting her looks with tiny purses and scarves. Billie loves wearing bright colours, with her favourite being chartreuse.

Bodhi - @mensweardog

Bodhi, the 11-year-old Shiba Inu has become a trailblazer in the fashion world. From what started as a joke, dressing up in his owner David’s clothes, Bodhi has amassed a following of over 400K on Instagram and is far from a laugh. 

Montjiro - @montjiro

Japanese Chihuahua Montjiro is well-known for his excellent urban street style and is the envy of his canine friends. With a wardrobe full of pieces designed by his very own owner, his range includes hats, ties, vests and kimonos.  

Izzy - @izzythe.frenchie

Izzy is a Nashville born French Bulldog by day and internet sensation by night. Izzy is also set to wear the Tom Daley handmade knitted jumper at Fashion Week.
