Suit Shopping at the new POLITIX Manawa Bay Store

After almost 50 years in the suiting and clothing industry, it’s no surprise that men around Australia and New Zealand trust POLITIX for their special occasion and wardrobe essentials. After a whirlwind year, POLITIX unveiled the latest exciting chapter in its applaudable journey - a store opening in Auckland’s new, premier outlet shopping district, Manawa Bay. In this sleek space, shoppers can peruse and purchase a wide range of suits, separates and wardrobe staples - all at exclusive outlet prices.

To mark the occasion, Remix founder Tim Phin and Fashion Editor Martha Brooke visited the new store to curate looks for the upcoming event season. 

Summer Suits You
With warmer weather on the imminent horizon, Tim was shopping for a suit that was suitable for summer occasions - be it weddings, Christmas functions and special events. Immediately, we were both drawn to this Stone slim stretch two-piece, paired to perfection with a ditsy floral shirt for a pop of interest. Having the suit already matched with a shirt and pocket square made the shopping experience even easier, allowing Tim to try-on with confidence and ease. 

We paired the look with a pair of Tan dress shoes to bring a warmer tone to the outfit and both agreed that the look would also work wonderfully with a pair of classic loafers. The versatility of the suit was a huge tick for Tim who envisioned pairing the pants with a crisp white tee and sneakers, the floral shirt with chinos, shorts and jeans, and the blazer with black pants and a white shirt, for example.

Black Tie Elegance
A timeless black-tie suit is considered a staple in any man’s wardrobe so finding a well-fitted two-piece was high on Tim’s shopping list. A striking velvet number with satin lapels caught our attention and with sizes secured, Tim headed to the fitting room to try on. As you can see, the black suit was a style success, fitting beautifully on the shoulders and waist. The velvet added a unique twist to a traditional suit and the clip-on bow tie offered ease and added sophistication. Paired with a timeless lace-up dress shoe, Tim’s black-tie look was complete!

Summer Staples 
In-keeping with the summer season, Tim wanted to find some core staples for his warmer-weather capsule wardrobe, that could easily slot in with existing pieces and work a variety of ways for different occasions. As a lover of earthy tones, Tim wanted to try the khaki green knitted polo. We paired it with a pair of white chino shorts, black loafers and leather overnight bag for a smart and stylish on-the-go look. We loved how effortless achieving this summer look was and envisioned Tim wearing it to lunch meetings, after-work drinks and celebratory summer soirées.
