Meet the stars of the Remix Autumn menswear shoot, Auckland FC

Since their introduction to the Football A-League just one year ago, Auckland FC have quickly—and as time will tell, rightfully—been dubbed the ‘ones to watch’ for their debut season. They’ve since climbed to the top of the table with multiple back-to-back wins, and proven time and time again that they are a force to be reckoned with on the pitch.

Not afraid of a challenge, Auckland FC players Hiroki Sakai, Nando Pijnaker, Guillermo May, Logan Rogerson and Dan Hall, swapped their gameday kits for the latest in menswear for the Autumn/Winter season ahead.

Logan Rogerson

Now a winger for Auckland FC, Logan Rogerson started his A-League career with the Wellington Phoenix. However, it wasn’t until his time with Auckland City where Rogerson was able to truly showcase his skill for the sport. After winning the ISPS Handa title, Logan moved to Finland to play for HJK Helsinki, before being signed by Auckland FC in 2024. ‘Representing New Zealand has always been an honour. I’ve played for the National team, as well as the U17 and U23 levels, and scoring a hat-trick in the Pacific Games was also a highlight. Every time I put on that jersey, I feel immense pride and responsibility to perform for my country.’ Logan Rogerson

Hiroki Sakai

Auckland FC’s Team Captain and right back, Hiroki Sakai was born and raised in Kashiwa, Japan. After climbing the ranks of Japan’s A-League, Sakai was quickly snapped up by Germany’s Hannover 96, and later, France’s Olympique de Marseille, before joining Auckland in 2024. ‘Representing Japan is one of the greatest honours of my career. Playing in the World Cup, especially in front of a global audience, is a feeling that’s hard to describe. It’s a source of pride for me, my family, and the fans back home. I’ve been fortunate enough to play in three World Cups (2014, 2018, 2022), and each one was a special experience.’ —Hiroki Sakai

Nando Pijnaker

Auckland FC’s Centre back, Nando Pijnaker’s love for football began when he first moved to New Zealand from the Netherlands at just three years old. After training at Wellington's Olé Football Academy, Pijnaker followed the Academy’s Director, Declan Edge to Sweden, where he joined Torslanda IK. Since then, Nando has played for the Grasshoppers, Rio Ave and Sligo Rovers before signing with Auckland FC for their debut season. ‘I made my senior debut for the All Whites in November 2019, in a friendly against Lithuania. Even though we lost 1-0, it was a proud moment for me.’ —Nando Pijnaker

Dan Hall

Originally from Queensland, Australia, Dan Hall began his career with Western Pride. In 2020, Hall was offered a senior contract with the Central Coast Mariners who went on to win the 2022-23 A-League Championship. ‘I’m excited to be part of Auckland FC. It’s a new challenge for me, and I’m looking forward to helping the club succeed in the A-League. My main focus is on settling into the team, working hard, and contributing to our goals both individually and collectively. I’m eager to see what we can achieve together.’ —Dan Hall

Guillermo May

Uruguayan-born Guillermo May moved to New Zealand to join Auckland FC after playing professionally in Uruguay, Argentina and Spain. May was a youth academy product of Nacional and part of the under-20 team that won the 2018 U-20 Copa Libertadores. ‘After my time in Spain and returning to Uruguay, I felt it was time for a new challenge. Joining Auckland FC presented an exciting opportunity to play in the A-League and experience a different level of competition. I want to contribute to the team and help us succeed.’ —Guillermo May
