Tiger Translate Is Back

      Tiger Translate is back! After taking a break in 2011, the New Zealand-developed, internationally-acclaimed art and music mash-up is returning on Saturday 17 November. Auckland is hosting this year’s Tiger Translate which has the theme of ‘The Streets’. This is a music inspired event which will not only showcase the creative interpretations of New Zealand’s emerging and homegrown artistic talent, but will also have international artists taking to the stage. Bringing a truly international influence to this year’s Tiger Translate, is headlining act and Japanese sound designer, Yosi Horikara, who brings with him his shadowy version of musique concrete hip hop. Along with such international talent, top rating Kiwi artists also taking to the Tiger Translate stage on the night include, Homebrew Crew, Weird Together, Dudley Benson DOC Westies Bogan Circus, Chaos in the CBD and The Arc. Tiger Beer is (still) calling on creative artists to develop their own music track or album artwork inspired by the 2012 Translate Streets theme, and get the chance to showcase their entries at this Tiger Translate event in Auckland and possibly share the opportunity to win a trip to the global Tiger Translate event in Dubai. The energy of our streets is unavoidable, and Tiger Beer is calling on creatives to join the movement by showcasing their musical and artistic ability. To enter, musicians need to create a track that captures the unfolding energy of the streets, and upload it to the Tiger Beer website – www.tigerbeer.co.nz. Artists are then encouraged to find a musician’s entry that gets their creative juices flowing, and create an album cover to accompany the track which also showcases the theme of ‘The Streets’. These budding musicians and artists as well as members of the public are encouraged to go to the Tiger Beer website and vote for their favourite entries. Those with the most votes will be finalists at the Tiger Translate event in Auckland on Saturday 17 November. Ten finalists, both musicians and artists, taking part at the Tiger Translate event will be judged by select VIP Kiwi musicians and artists for the chance to compete on the world stage by winning a trip to Tiger Translate in Dubai in January 2013.
