The Remix Team's Top Beauty Buys This Season

What can you find the Remix ladies doing when we’re not creating beautiful editorial content and throwing killer parties? Filling up our (virtual) shopping carts, of course. Just like you, we’re a sucker for a new release or viral cult-status beauty product. These are the products we are crushing on this season.

“I’m such a sucker for a natural skincare product, and even better when it’s made in New Zealand. Gota is a brand that has recently landed on my desk and I have to say, I’m impressed. Made with foraged ingredients from our native forest like Mamaku Leaf extract and Kānuka that have been utilised for centuries for their healing properties. My favourite? The Forest of Vitality Firming Facial Cream‒it is so lush. Two more products I am crushing on at the moment are the French beauty brand, VIOLETTE_FR Bisou Balm in shade Calisson. This is the perfect matte, sheer lippy in this neutral shade that perfects that no-makeup-makeup look. It’s safe to say, this lippy has solidified a place in my handbag for quick and easy lip colour on the go. My scent of the season? Diptyque Limited Edition Do Son‒it is such a sensual and sophisticated fragrance, inspired by Vietnam with notes of African orange flower, rose, iris, tuberose, pink pepper, benzoin and musk.”

“I was sceptical of the power of at-home redlight therapy but once you go down a TikTok video rabbit hole with countless before and after shots as proof, it’s hard to come back from that. So in my virtual cart (one day!) is the Trudermal LED Face Mask from The Facialist. Will my husband refuse to chat face to face while I’m wearing it? Probably. Will I care? Probably not. It’s the answer to an at-home FDA-approved light therapy treatment that is clinically proven to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, pigmentation, active acne and redness. Just safe and natural results with no downtime‒just healthier, glowing skin in the comfort of my own home. Yes please. Another bad boy I need to invest in is the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System. I’ve seen the evidence myself on none other than TikTok of how powerful this device is for thin and flat hair. Outrageous‒absolute must-try!”

The One Reset and Restore Moisture Cream from Aleph. This dreamy, creamy number arrived at the Remix offices in a PR pack, and I swooped! Initially taken by chic, minimalist packaging, I read on to see it promoted lifting, firming, plumping and smoothing effects‒say no more. But I shall, Aleph is also big on sustainability with reusable packaging and vegan ingredients. One potdown and I can confirm, it’s worth the hype! Will beadding to cart! My second pick is something I don’t usually go for - a red lip! We had a special Revlon delivery at the office and we all got to choose a lippy each. I decided to be brave and go for an orange-red hue in the Revlon Colourstay Limitless Matte in shade 009 Hot Take. Needless to say, I am now a red lip kinda girl.”

“Rhode’s viral lip gloss phone case is currently sitting in my cart, and I don’t even wear lip gloss! But I would if I had this. I’m also gagging for the Jacquemus soap bar. If the shipping didn’t cost more than the actual bar itself, then I would. My final wishlist item is the Aleph x Kate Sylvester Gloria cheek/lip tint. It’s the perfect shade of red and for a minimal-makeup, low-maintenance beauty routine kind of gal like me‒just a couple of dabs with your finger on the cheek and lips and you’ve perfected the perfect French Girl aesthetic.

“Like most girls these days, I get all of my beauty recommendations from TikTok. I have watched countless videos about the Shiseido Fino Premium Touch Hair Mask, and I’m dying to try it! As someone who is very low-maintenance when it comes to my hair, I am always looking for products that will leave my hair smooth and shiny, so that I rarely have to worry about styling it every morning ... because I definitely don’t do that. I am also super excited that I finally get to purchase this product from Glossier! This has been in my shopping cart for so long but with shipping previously not available to New Zealand it has only ever been a wishlist item. Glossier Cloud Paint Gel Cream Blush, you’re coming home with me!

“It’s such a classic, but I am still the biggest fan of Drunk Elephant’s D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops, aka liquid sunshine in a bottle that will literally make you the glowy goddess you wish to be so bad (or at least in my case). Before finding out this serum was packed with antioxidants and peptides, mixing it with moisturiser and seeing the glow it gave me, with or without makeup, was enough for this product to become my number-one beauty warrior. Reading more about the product, I’ve since found out it also improves skin elasticity and fortified sour skin’s protective barrier – so I’m willing to fight any young Mecca-goers for this one! Another product that I fell in love with recently was the Kora Organics Plant Stem Cell Retinol by Miranda Kerr. This product was sent to us and I was lucky enough to try it out for the month. Immediately, I saw an insane difference in the texture of my skin and I couldn’t believe how baby-soft my skin looked and felt. I am currently saving up in hopes to get this nourishing moisturiser back in my skincare routine.”
