How to steal Taylor Swift's edgy new haircut

It was only two weeks ago, at Coachella’s first weekend, when Taylor Swift first stepped out with her brand new ‘do. The platinum blonde colour and blunt cut is such a change from Tay’s usual golden locks but we have to admit, we're all for it! The 26-year-old looks edgier than ever and while the platinum bangs are right on trend for the American summer and we are heading into the colder season, it doesn’t mean you can’t take a page out of Tay's book to revamp your hair in similar style. The haircut itself is equal parts cool-girl and works with laziness, and the texture comes down refining the bedhead style that you woke up with!

Follow these steps to work your hair just like Taylor’s… Firstly, bleach. It doesn’t need to be as drastic as a platinum blonde/verging on white like Taylor’s – it could even be something a little bit subtler such as an ombre – but bleaching your locks in any way will change your texture. It may not be the healthiest option for your hair but what it does do is say ‘I spent every day at the beach’. Which is a nice reminder of what is to come while you’re suffering through the harsh winds of winter. Secondly, you have to prep the texture. Take a cue from when you first wake up and rocking the bedhead, just add even more texture to that with some dry shampoo. All you have to do is separate the hair into 1-2 inch sections and spray into the roots, making sure not to put too much product in. Using your fingers to blend in the product, shake out the roots and move the dry shampoo through the length of your hair. It’s time to make waves. To get the curvy look like Taylor’s, use a curling iron and wrap sections loosely to ensure the waves aren’t too defined. After you’ve styled your hair with heat, run your fingers through to break them up a bit, the more messed up – the better! Finish it off. Time to add some shine by adding a conditioning formula. To keep the waves in place, mist the hair with a light hairspray keeping it a 20cm distance from your head, keep in mind not to use anything that will weigh your hair down and there it is – a Tay Swizzle 2016 texture!

This is my favorite cover I've ever gotten to be a part of. Thank you @voguemagazine and @mertalas!!
