This weekend's heatwave is prime time to go exploring

It’s surprising how little people will get out of the city on those sweltering Saturdays and Sundays, and amongst the natural beauty that is Aotearoa. I mean I get the already troubled hangover hanging at the end of your bed urging you to buy the Mi-Gorengs, but remember; we live in one of the most picturesque places in the world.

So, let us introduce you to the people making the most of it, these guys over at Epic Little Missions have developed a site made for every type of walker – from overnight trampers, to walkers with Chihuahuas. The site features walks around the Auckland region, will give you an estimate of how long it will take you to travel there by car, how long the walk is, and spots on the way to check out for a much needed drink and snack rest.

These guys have even done the walks and documented what kind of terrain the track will be based in. And if that’s not enough, they let you know what difficulty level the walk will be. Most of the work already done, dreamy as.

Make it your little mission this weekend to get up and into what Auckland has to offer. If not, heading to brunch downtown is always a good idea...
