Inside the Opening Party of Commercial Bay’s New Coach Store with Remix

The holiday season sparkled a little brighter with the grand opening of the brand-new Coach store at Commercial Bay—New Zealand’s flagship location for the iconic brand. This expansive space, brimming with ready-to-wear collections and timeless leather accessories deserved nothing less than a celebratory launch. Enter Remix, long-time friends of Coach, ready to host an unforgettable evening.


Joined by a hand-picked group of fashion-forward friends and influential tastemakers, we marked the occasion with an exclusive event filled with festive cheer and style.


With Christmas just around the corner, the flagship store transformed into a stylish festive grotto. Plush red bows, garlands, and a dazzling Christmas tree stood at the heart of the space, complete with Coach bag tag ornaments. Our expert events team (aka our “magic elves”) elevated the festive ambience with arrangements of deep red blooms, cranberry branches, and fragrant pine. The pièce de résistance? A custom Coach-wrapped bar serving as the ultimate seasonal showstopper.


Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a glass of Moët & Chandon - the epitome of celebratory drinks. As we toasted to health and happiness, the night got underway - in festive fashion, no less.

A lucky list had the pleasure of being dressed for the occasion in fresh-off-the-runway new-season pieces. From biker-esque leather jackets to dramatic pink bow skirts, guests made each look their own, paired to perfection with the latest leather bags to steal our hearts this season. Iconic, heritage styles such as the Tabby and Dinky appeared, reimagined for today's wearer with brighter colours and statement furnishings such as studs or metallic finishes. Newer designs such as the Brooklyn also took centre stage, earning their rightful place under the spotlight alongside a curated selection of other coveted styles displayed throughout the store.


From brie, cranberry and pecan-loaded brioches to brown sugar-glazed chicken, the festive spirit lived on through the NYC holiday-inspired food menu. Among glasses of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc and Chateau d'Esclans Whispering Angel Rose, guests had the opportunity to sip and savour an exclusive Gingerbread Espresso Martini made with Belvedere Vodka, Kahlúa, homemade gingerbread syrup, coffee and a sprinkling of gingerbread. 

Style icons, creatives and talented DJ duo, Katayanagi Twins provided the soundtrack of the evening and naturally as the evening got underway, a dancefloor emerged, filled with friends and laughter.


To commemorate the evening, guests were invited to create custom, personalised, Coach bag tags with their word or symbols of choice. The Polaroid camera made its way around the store, snapping instant photos of guests, pocketed in a Coach booklet for the ultimate keepsake.


As cameras flashed and glasses chinked, we soaked in the festive cheer and raised a toast to a great night with great company. Here’s to a Coach Christmas and all of the festive memories made!
