How to make the most of your Easter weekend

Easter weekend is just around the corner and it's the one time of year where eating chocolate all day long is completely acceptable. Other than devouring sweet treats, there are some awesome things to do around Auckland over the 4 days. You might as well make the most of the glorious long weekend while you can!

Here are some of our favourite ways to spend the Easter holiday.

Why not use the weekend to gather up your closest gal pals, pack up a basket filled with every cheese your heart desires and head to Auckland Domain or even Oakley Creek Waterfall for a picnic. What’s great about these locations is that they’re super close to the CBD but you wouldn’t even know it!

A long weekend is a perfect time to pack the car up and take a road trip. The weather lately is consistently stunning, so make the most of the sun and head to a beach for the day or even set up a tent or book a bach to make the most of your beach getaway. We recommend heading to either Tauwharanui or Pakiri beach

You might want to use your days off to catch up on some good, old-fashioned exercise. Get outdoors this long weekend and take a day hike through Te Henga Walkway, a coastal walk with views that’ll distract you from that thigh burn.

Stuck on ideas on how to entertain the little ones? How about you take them along to the Royal Easter Show. The kids will love all the rides, carnival games and the farm animals!

Maybe you’d prefer a simpler weekend. How about taking the time to grab brunch at one of our favourites, Winona Forever, or their sister cafe Major Tom. Afterwards, you can take a walk around St Heliers Bay or settle in at home and open that book you’ve been meaning to read.
