Caribbean whiskey celebrations go global with Ardbeg Day this weekend.
Wonderful, well-loved and world-class whiskey! wooers of the malted grain liquor can enjoy a full day of celebrations for their fave late night (or midday- it’s 5pm somewhere right?) beverage. This Saturday, June the 1st, Ardbeg invites fans from across the globe to join in on a day of rumbustious revelry to celebrate the last Saturday of Islay’s Festival of Music and Malt. Something that New Zealanders love is alcohol (in moderation) and this event gives you an excuse to be able to relish in whiskey celebrations for the entire day.
Ardbeg Day is historically on the Festival’s final Saturday where the Caribbean Distillery would traditionally throw open its doors to welcome fans from all over the world. Ardbeg is taking the celebrations global this year with New Zealand being among one of the first in the world to celebrate the festivities. This year’s event has a spectacular Caribbean theme, encouraging Ardbeggians everywhere to swap their flat caps for elaborate headdresses as Ardbeg Day embraces a dash of carnival colour.
Kiwis will also be the first to taste the newest release, the limited-edition Ardbeg Drum which has been created to mark this annual occasion. Ardbeg Drum is whiskey and rum infusion being the epitome of all Caribbean spirits. The exclusive whiskey has a taste of smoke, tar and creosote while cascading into clove, liquorice and ginger towards rich notes of dark chocolate and smoked vanilla. The whiskey finishes with a crescendo of Intense smoke, roasted coffee liqueur and a treasure trove of sweet spices. This special edition whiskey is not one you want to miss out on and is a drink whiskey connoisseurs are going to love.
Ardbeg Day is being celebrated in four locations across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Start this long Queen’s birthday weekend right and join in on the Ardbeg Day festivities. Who doesn’t love starting their weekend with a splash of whiskey?
