Specsavers and Mimco introduce seven new styles to their coveted collaboration
All aboard! After a successful debut in 2023, Specsavers and Mimco have joined forces once again to bring the beautiful designs of the iconic Australian accessories’ brand back to New Zealand shores.
This coveted collection refresh has introduced seven new styles, including four optical and three sun frames, to the ever-popular Mimco range. Designed with the modern fashion icon in mind, the collection celebrates quality craftsmanship, individuality, and of course, style. Each frame boasts modern shapes and sophisticated finishes that elevate any look.
The Mimco ethos of recognising ‘the power of an accessory’ coupled with the knowledge of Specsavers when it comes to eyewear trends is undeniably a match made in eyewear heaven. Showcasing exceptional attention to detail, a favourite design element from the collection that caught our eye (pun intended), is the subtle nod to the ‘i’ that features in the Mimco logo. If you look closely, the letter is placed sideways on the front of the frames.
To celebrate the return of the popular collaboration and their expanded frame range, Remix and local tastemaker Sakura Matches took the new styles to sea for the ultimate test against the elements, showing how stylish eyewear doesn’t have to compromise on quality. 
Sakura wears the MIMCO SUN RX 09, a classic cat-eye made from Acetate Renew, an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional bio-based acetate. The classic shape paired with the distinct tortoise shell pattern is perfect for long lunches with the girls and morning strolls down Ponsonby Road.
