Shop and dine: the new trend

We all love the finer things in life and to treat ourselves when we can, a shopping trip to your favourite luxury store and a gourmet dinner is two things we all enjoy doing and now you can mix your love for both at once!
The trend of big designer brands opening restaurants and cafes has been around for a while, but it seems as though more and more brands are jumping on the idea. With brands like Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany and co and Gucci providing such unique shopping experiences to their top notch customers, Louis Vuitton has recently announced they too are opening their very first restaurant and cafe.

The LV flagship store and luxurious restaurant have recently opened its doors to customers at the beginning of this year in no other place than Osaka Japan. The word on the street is that the restaurants menu is created by Japanese chef Yosuke Suga who’s Sugalabo restaurant is super exclusive to get into, which means we can expect nothin less from the Sugalabo V.

But if you don’t want to fly all the way to Japan for a mix of fine dining and luxury shopping you can get a taste of the experience right here in New Zealand. Men’s high-quality clothing brand Rodd & Gunn are opening their second restaurant and bar in Commercial bay this month alongside their first location in Queenstown. The Lodge Bar menu has been put together by Kiwi chef Matt Lambert, his dishes use the freshest and finest New Zealand produce and bring a exceptional experience.
